Grandis half-day from the highway
Best for: Through-drivers, families needing a forest stop
Guide updated · verify NSW National Parks the morning you go
Short forest picnic stop near Bulahdelah when you cannot do a full lake day — one stop — do not pile on more.

The Grandis

The Grandis is a tall flooded gum picnic stop north-east of Bulahdelah (~76 m on official park materials). It is not “doing Myall Lakes” end-to-end — and that is fine.
Use Bulahdelah town for fuel and toilets, then one honest forest stop.
Do not force Seal Rocks afterward unless you have a full second half-day honest buffer.
Park entry may still apply depending on access — re-check official fee rules for your approach.
Track status, weather and closures change — verify on NSW National Parks before you leave, then use the timeline below as a planning skeleton only.

Tall tree, picnic, short time under canopy. Confirm facilities and alerts on NPWS. Stay on signed paths; do not climb the tree.

Extra tips
Who this plan is for
- Through-drivers on the Pacific Highway
- Families needing a short forest break
- Visitors saving Mungo Brush or Seal Rocks for another day
Decision gates
- If site closed for works or fire danger: do not invent a bush-bash to the trunk
- If the group still wants more: schedule a separate lake day — do not stack
What success looks like
- One calm tall-tree picnic completed
- Highway continue or honest second half-day only with buffer
